El Chavito Gomitas Con Chile [Review No.8]

I love the kind of Mexican candy that combines spicy and salty with sweet. Commonly this is with Mexican candies and fruits, but El Chavito has chamoyified various American confectioneries. In this case (er, bag), its your usual glo-worms, but covered in chile powder. Often chamoy stuff is also salty, but these were essentially just sweet and heat. The glo-worms themselves were quite good and were of the common flavors you would expect. They were also like super soft, sometimes gummy candies can be tough to chew but this wasn’t the case. The chile powder went really well with the glo-worms and I really enjoyed it. The chile powder of course adds a heat to them, but also a nice flavor that makes the candy overall my complex. There’s three flavors of the glo-worms. One of them was kind of neutral. The blue and red ones were quite interesting, you usually don’t see chamoy with berry flavors and I liked it a lot. The best though was the orange ones, they have a very bright flavor that goes amazingly with the chile powder. Orange is quite underrated and lemons and limes always get used in things, but the orange and chamoy combo was incredibly good. I don’t really eat spicy food but these did have a heat to them, more so with the orange ones.

Really good product, get if you can manage to find, I got these in a Shell gas station/10
